    Status Updates for 7/3/2026

I’m writing this on Thursday and there is no official Friday comic this week. I am traveling this weekend to attend a nerd fest that I haven’t been to in years.

I started planning this before I knew that most of the old crowd I remember doesn’t go anymore. That’s okay, I’m traveling with my son and he loves to be part of the costumes. I will also be dressing up this year…. kind of.

I have picked out all the things from my clothing that might double as a costume for an old fat guy. I have costumes for “Skipper, Mario, and Cobra Trooper on vacation”. Plus I packed a few of what I think of as “fun drinking shirts”. They count as costumes because I barely drink but drunk people love to tell me about them.

    The Comics:

Turns out interstellar diplomacy is easy. It’s the family recipe that’s classified. If aliens showed up and asked for your family recipe, would you fight for it too?

We used to be the professionals but now everyone is a professional.

    The Archives:

It’s always that other guy who makes work tough and not the fact that we’re working on some pro level procrastination.

    What I’m Reading/Doing:

I am working on a wooden carved flag that I will be putting up for auction. Proceeds got to support the local Legion Post

    Status Update 6/26/2026

Hello there new and old subscribers! We are dangling in front of 100 subscribers and I’m excited for it.

    Thanks for your help.

This week has actually been filled with more sawdust than ink.

I’m working on a wooden American flag as an auction piece for my local legion post. My new favorite tool might be a 60 grit flap disk.

With that let’s just jump into the comics this week and talk about holidays next week.

    The Comics:

A four-panel black-and-white comic where Scott enthusiastically makes the case for being a little crazy. Let people think you drink from the “Ha Ha Hose,” repeating that one funny thing, and having something that just makes you sit and giggle.

Not sure everyone got this one but I could use extra legs sometimes when mine misbehave.

Those spawn comics seemed like a good investment at the time. Seriously though there’s an art to being broke but not poor. It’s a very fine line to walk sometimes.

    What I’m Reading/Doing:

There is a local Mural celebration happening near my town. It’s hosted by the Walldogs. They are doing FANTASTIC work and I even got a chance to fanboy over a traveling artist (hotrodjen) I have followed on the socials.

    Social Hour 6/19/2026

I was wondering why I’m in such an internet induced funk and I think I just remembered.

I read the comments. I should never do that… but I had to.

The veterans post I belong to just lost another member. So it’s been one of those weeks where I needed to get information out to the community. I was also made aware that there’s some local drama surrounding a planned event and I needed to know about that.

What I found Is a junior nightmare. The locals normally wouldn’t talk to each other like this unless it’s outside a bar with a few beers involved….

That’s maybe the issue. People sitting at home, have a few drinks, and reply to facebook.

I’d rather you did that in person where a bouncer can act as a referee.

Now I have to pretend that some of them didn’t just get extremely unpleasant to each other in a public forum and try to talk to you about veterans issues.

I can already tell it’s not going to work well.

    The Comics:

    Friday – Vacation

    Weird Wednesday – Mob Logic

    Monday – Empowerment

    What I’m Reading/Doing:

I’m almost done with book three of the Dungeon Crawler series. I got sucked in but I’m only reading a chapter a day.
